In June of this year, I started tracking my migraines using the app Migraine Tracker: MiG on my iphone.
I logged 12 migraines in June, 8 migraines in July, 3 migraines in August, and so far ZERO migraines in September! I am on a 28 day migraine free streak! WOOHOO!
So, what changed? How did I get here? What did I do?
I am going to share all the things I did with resources as best as I can.
I started feeling like I was just chasing my symptoms without really knowing the root cause of my migraines.
Migraines can be really difficult to get a handle on because there are many different factors at play.... genetics, environmental toxins, stress, weather, food.
It's hard to know where to start.
So I decided to start with what I CAN control. Food and supplements.
I got genetic testing through MaxGen Labs. I choose this company because they DO NOT sell your personal information and they destroy your DNA as soon as your report is complete. I also felt like their fees were reasonable.
From this report, I found out that I had the MTHFR gene mutation. They did a great job explaining this as well as making recommendations on diet, lifestyle, and supplementation.
I have implemented all of them and it has mad a HUGE difference! Enough so that I have gone from 12 migraines in a month to ZERO!

eliminate ALL foods that contain Tyramine
stopped drinking all alcohol
increased my meditation
incorporated far infrared sauna & Red Light Therapy
walked outside more
eliminated dairy
increased carbohydrates
changed my supplements. added COQ10, magnesium glycinate, Methylated B vitamins, Phosphatidylcholine, Cod Liver Oil. Made sure that my multiple vitamin had all B vitamins methylated.
